affix *-aj
[*äj]*
verbaliser
(VBZ)
 Proto-Taspen
 ⤷ Not dialect specific
Notes
This is a suffix that turns nouns and adjectives into mostly VT, but a few VI verbs. The verbal paradigm is the same for other "-aj" class verbs.

E.g. khur "sticky" > khuraj sakh "stick to"
jom "power" > jomaj "to rule"
k'us "shape" > k'usaj "to shape"

Don't forget, this suffix is very similar in meaning with the CAUS suffix added. CAUS requires an agent. "-aj" does not imply an agent.

E.g. k'ej "smooth" > k'ejaj "smoothen" > k'ejajk' "make smooth"
P'iphik'ejaj iwth us wenispoum
REC-PFV-smoothen path.ABS after rain-EVENT-GEN
"The trail smoothened after the rain"
VS
P'iphik'ejajk' se iwthrumu t'isipoaj sum
REC-PFV-smoothen-CAUS 1.SG-ERG path-PROX-ACC walk-EVENT-INSTR 1.SG-GEN
"I smoothened this trail with my walk."
