About Laendish Laendish is one of the mainland Colian languages, the vestiges of the once-powerful Colian Empire.

Spoken in the mountains of eastern Edievia, Laendish has preserved some older features and innovated others. Mid-low vowels were raised in open syllables, creating a small class of verbs that have alternating stems. Syllable-final /l/ vocalized to /u̯/, generating another class of verbs that have stems alternating between /l/ and /u̯/ finally. This vocalization also raised mid-low vowels, creating a class of nouns that have identical singular and plural forms. Final /n/ was lost in all words, while the verbal system was overhauled, with tense indicated with auxiliary verbs in the past and future.

Verbs lack the aspectual distinction found in Edievian, but instead innovated tense distinctions with auxiliary verbs. Other Colian features, however, are preserved, such as VSO word order, inflected prepositions, and ablaut in nouns.
