About Proto-Asuranesian
PAs is believed to have been spoken in West Nagu due to the presence of root words for marine things as well as jungle things.
Grammar:
Grammar:
- Tripartite alignment with marked ergative and accusative, and unmarked intransitive which also functions as a dative.
- Fairly free word order but preference for VAO and SV as semantically neutral.
- Agglutinating with some synthetic and nonconcatenative features, notably productive reduplication for derivational and inflectional purposes, and apophony in the verbs to mark basic valency.
- 7 cases: ergative, accusative, absolutive, genitive, allative, ablative, instrumental.
- Singular, dual, paucal and plural numbers for nouns, and singular, dual and plural numbers for pronouns.
- Two distinct stems for each pronoun split by case: a so-called relational stem and an oblique stem.
- Two noun classes: Animate and Inanimate.
