This tale begins with a tree.

A tree and a boy whom came to rule over thousands of people.

This boy, Tanhaket (tä.nʱä.ke̞t) in Mariët i Savarsik (mä.rɨ.e̞t ɨ sä.βär.sɨk), was born to his salhi'et (sä.l̥ɨ.ʔe̞t), mother, and his hayotet (hä.ɣo̞.te̞t), father - Kofelet.

When his father was young, a tree was planted in the city area of Sarvara. This tree, enhas apiyas i kofelsik, the tree of Kofelet, grew to be much larger than the rest of the trees in the city. It may have been the inherent magic within the soil, but Tanhaket in his later years knew it must have been fortune.

When Tanhaket was born, it was said that his first breath yielded the first cloud, and that this cloud brought water to all of the crops in the city.

When the people of the city came and asked why their crops had been watered by smoke in the sky, it was thus that the people would hold the boy in high esteem. He gave their crops a needed boost, and was not even a year old at that point.

When the boy was a child, he grew to play with the other children - but it became increasingly clear that he was not like them. He was far more agile than the others, affording him the nickname of “The Monkey.”
He would bask in the rain as the others cussed at this horrid blessing to their plants, and would spend his free time cultivating his own.
