About Ardzumic Ardzumic is a polysynthetic language that allows the creation of long words by stringing together roots and affixes. Ardzumic distinguishes three classes of words: nominals, verbs, and particles.

Nominals are inflected for one of the nine cases and for possession. Verbs are inflected for one of the four tenses, three moods and for the number and person of its subject and object. Both nominals and verbs have complex derivational morphology. Basic word order in transitive clauses is verb-subject-object. A fourth-person category enables switch-reference between main clauses and subordinate clauses with different subjects.

Ardzumic is generally a head-initial language, but the word order is relatively free. As there are no true adjectives, most nominals have an attributive function - they precede the modified nominal, syntactically forming a compound nominal. Adverb-particles follow the verbs they modify, and conjunctions are usually the first element in a clause.

Ardzumic is a pro-drop language, making very little use of free-standing pronouns. It has no articles nor grammatical gender.
