About Old Kai'i
The now dead language of Kai was spoken up until the fall of Astar Kai, after which the overlords of the Iyiaki empire forced upon them their language. Of course, only the noble class really took to using the new language, the lower classes kept on speaking the Old Toungue, but it has now evolved to the point where it is no longer recognisable from its mother.
