About Old Antarian
Old Antarian was a language spoken in Eastern Retenia (Kingdom of Antareya) during Late Antiquity and Early Middle Age. Old Antarian originated from Taurayan dialects spoken in Antaria region after the collapse of Taurayan empire and extended with the rise of Antarian kingdom. During, this period, this language was the main "Lingua Franca" in Retenia.
Old Antarian had less Celtic influence than Nimarran Retenian but had more Latin influence due to the Roman rule on South-East coast of Retenia during 3 centuries.
Due to his position of "Lingua Franca", Old Antarian influenced Nimarran Retenian (and then Standard Retenian) and the majority of Latin vocabulary found in Standard Retenian entered it through Old Antarian.
Old Antarian is not the ancestor of Antarian "dialects" of nowadays because theses modern Antarian dialects are from Nimarran Retenian branch (Like Standard Retenian).
The main descendant of Old Antarian is Makarian, spoken in Makaria, an autonomes province (state) in East / North-East of Retenia.
