INFORMATION ABOUT THIS CALENDAR:
DAYS:
-This calendar has 8 days of the week, Jánottsti, Dijotsti, Kaninsti, Riśettsti, Rujndtsti, Ughutsti, Yrittsti, and Fyśtsti, all representing one of the eight ancient elements of Calutia. Jánottsti is the day of light, Dijotsti is the day of the sky, Kaninsti is the day of fire, Riśettsti is the day of water, Rujndtsti is the day of the rock, Ughutsti is the day of the soil, Yrittsti is the day of the plant, and Fyśtsti is the day of life. Typically, the weekdays Dijotsti, Kaninsti, Riśettsti, Rujndtsti, Ughutsti, and Yrittsti are the days people go to work or school, and the weekends Fyśtsti and Jánottsti are for living life and doing things around the household. The moon phases also take into account this number of days in the week, for like in the Gregorian calendar, each week is supposed to approximate the moon phase, say new to half moon and half to full moon.
-Until recently, this calendar didn't have a system for leap years and leap days. But now, they're here, and when they do, there's an extra day added to Náani, giving it 23 days like the majority of the months already do, and making the first day of spring and the new year to be Adtańani 1 (which is March 15 on the Gregorian calendar).
MONTHS AND SEASONS:
-Calutia divides its year up into four almost-equal seasons, which themselves are divided into four almost-equal-though-sometimes-actually-equal months. The first season, Adtańaśjo, is spring, and is named after Adtańani, and the first of that day is the new year. It encompasses the aforementioned month Adtańani, as well as Epireni, Tatnankani, and Gkadterni. The second season, Náaśjo, is summer, and is named after Náani, and encompasses that month as well as Inelaleni, Fáśéni, and Źuńoni. The third season, Emereśjo, is autumn, named after its first month Emereni, but also includes Alterani, Ugkáani, and Uuwalni. Finally, the winter season Wuueńeśjo is one that includes the last four months of the year Wuueńeni, Śinźéni, Ooeźuni, and lastly Erlegkani. The first lasts 92 days, the second lasts 91 (but sometimes 92) days, and the third and fourth seasons last 91 days. Initially, the calendar didn't have months, only seasons; the creation of months was only brought forth by Hańajo III in the Dźiiźuŋ Dynasty about 1630 years ago as a way to divide the seasons.
