About Yaraghu
The exonym name comes from a word in the very closely related language Dinázeca, yáraghu /jaɹɑɣʷu/, meaning 'shapeshifters' or 'changing people.' Although not all of the Yaraghu are shapeshifters, this is their most salient feature to the Dinázeca—and the main feature that separates the two peoples.
(yarawu /jaɾaɣʷu/ has the same meaning in the Yaraghu language, but is never applied to the language (or people) as a whole. Haranu literally means 'the people.')

Language family relationships
[edit] [view] Dinázéće (Dinazeca)Its speakers would be extremely offended to think of Dinázéće /dinæzekʲə/ as a dialect of Yaraghu (or even vice versa), but the languages are extremely closely related, and if it was not for the prevalence of avoidance speech in Dinázéće, they would be entirely mutually intelligible.
