About Seylese Seylonese is part of the Romance family from the Indo-European language family. It descends from a version of classical Latin that arrived in South Asia with the spread of the Roman Empire. It bears similarities to Sardinian and Southern Italian languages but has had extensive influences from Dravidian languages.
It is spoken natively in the southern states of India and Sri Lanka and is part of the Merido-Romance family.
