About Shatavian
Shatavian (Şatavaçenə [ʃɑ:tɑvɑt͡ʃenæ] is an endangered Jiuzemic language in the Vaniuan language family, which in turn is a branch of the Ryamaian macrofamily; with its earliest forms spoken by the Jiuzemic tribes that migrated to present-day Oyazan. It is most closely related to other Jiuzemic languages, namely Vosan, Siyan and Hitagi; although it has been separated from them for more than a millenium, making it slightly more divergent than other Jiuzemic languages. Shatavian has been influenced by and in turn influenced the Bashan, Ulvash and Khezian languages in chronological order due to extensive contact over centuries.
The language is divided into two (mostly) mutually intelligible dialects, Fama and Maychen. They are sometimes considered separate languages, but Shatavian nationalists (read: Shatavians) consider them dialects of a single language.
