About Ponashemu Ponaśëmu is a germanic language close to German, however influences from other local languages and dialects (Czech, Silesian, Polish) are very prominent. It is however not a creole since the grammar is very complicated.

Set in the Sudete Mountains in the year 2259 it has about 2000 speakers in a few villages and farms.

I initially was aiming for a futuristic version or a descendant of modern German, but with the changing direction the novel it is set in took it gradually drifted to something completely different - to the point I can no longer say it is an realistic descendant of German. At some point my main focus was to manifest the mountains themself into the language like if they could speak through their inhabitants, whilst trying to incorporate and save into it the sound and/or vocabulary of Silesian and Glatzer German and Silesian (with some words derived from Czech and Polish) and of course form it according to my own "taste" and adding primevally or archaically sounding words mirroring the landscape, the high mountains, dimm forests and quiet meadows. As for such I don't explain in the novel, where the language came from and maybe suggest, that the language was always there, where it is, that it maybe is a descendant of a Germanic tribal dialect (maybe the Silingae or Lugi Buri), which evolved with and to the mountains and somehow survived into the period the novel is set in.
