Species Solraine
About Merzennian Merzennian is the nearly-homogeneous language of the planet Merzen, in the star system Herroka. Towards the edge of the Court of Trifalla's space, the planet is actually an old offshoot colony of Zion, and thus contains a population of almost entirely Solraine. The only other species on its surface besides wildlife are the Anodyne and Illiven, who share the same vocal range.
Merzennian itself is a blend of the two languages that were in circulation in Zion at the time of their split. They largely took after the spoken language, Enekai, meant to be used to communicate with the organic races the trade empire was coming in to contact with. However, pieces of their tonal language Zionai still persist in the language in various forms.

Phonology
[view]Phonological System: SolraineSolraine are a very primitive and crudely made species, being the first living creations of a young deity. Unlike other species, they only have one building block: Magic. Every part of a Solraine is made of various states of magic with matter occasionally mixed in. Each Solraine will have their own affinity of magic that helps to dictate their appearance, making them extremely variable even without societal and parental influences.
Unlike many other species, Solraine have no constraints on language due to their unique physiology. Many compare the way they produce sound to that of a speaker- that is, they can produce any sound in a variety of frequencies, including multiple at once. Ancient and native Solraine languages tend to be Tonal (Music based) or Racketic (sound based) in nature. However, modern Solraine languages often include organic sounds due to exposure- most often humans and other social species, due to the Solraine drive to pack bond with anything that moves.
They are known as master imitators, and while the sounds in this Phonology represent many Solraine languages, the only limit to the languages they can learn is the amount of time they wish to invest.
