About Unnamed
The People of the Stones are a nomadic people living in a wide, rocky savanna on the edge of a desert. The People have created a 3 tiered hierarchy that helps them make sense of the world around them. The sky above represents the highest level of the hierarchy, humans/the self represent the middle level of the hierarchy, and the earth below represents the lower level of the hierarchy.

As humans in the desert feel fairly insignificant and are only just above the ground compared to the vastness of the sky, the distance between the lower 2 hierarchies are a lot closer together than the upper one. As such, the upper-middle relationship can be used as a proxy for things that are far, the middle-lower relationship can be a proxy for things that are close, and the upper-lower relationship can be a proxy for things that are far distant beyond a human scale (no middle) or are otherwise opposed, counter, or contradictory.
The 3 primary vowel sounds ( /ɐ/, /o̞/, and /u/) relate generally to the hierarchical levels. /ɐ/, being the most differentiated, is associated with the upper hierarchy. /o̞/ the middle sound, relates to the middle hierarchy. /u/ being the lowest sound relates to the diminutive hierarchy. Diphthong vowels connote movement between the hierarchical levels and movement/life in general. Consecutive separated vowels indicate a relationship between hierarchical levels that is not movement based, but rather comparative.
