About Majik
Majik (pronounced: MAGE-ick) is a dead language in-universe. It used to be the language of a race of magical, human-like beings called Maji (pronounced: MAGE-eye). The Maji were mostly killed off by colonial powers and the diseases they brought. Although not having any native speakers in the modern day, Majik is used by sorcerers with Maji ancestry (found all over the world) to cast their spells. This is due to the fact that speaking Majik is an innate ability for these people akin to glossolalia. There is an effort to reconstruct Majik as speaking the language is a way for wizards with no innate magical ability to cast spells.
