Language type A priori
Place & SpeakersMaran is spoken by a population of around 1,400,000,000 in The Marân Nation on the Planet Plavak.
Species Human/humanoid
About Maran Marântasea is spoken by the Marân people; an ethnic group and nation-state on the planet Plavak. The line between plant and animal on Plavak is heavily blurred. As such, Plavak's sapient species, the Planté, are humanoid but have many qualities of plants. The story the language is for takes place during the Space Age and Marântaceae is very technologically advanced.

Important note about Planté biology:
The Planté have three biological sexes and a gender-trinary system. The three genders are all completely separate and gender neutrality is found not between masculine and feminine, but rather between all the three genders which have their own gender roles and stereotypes.
