About Low Bautan Pidgin Dutch
Following the colonisation of south-western Greenland by the Danes, many Dutch merchants looked to the island for easier trade connections, trading with the local peoples, and a faster route to the new world. The interaction between Low Bautan peoples and Dutch merchants incited a need for communication, hence initiating the development of a pidgin.
Since the pidgin was only ever used for interlingual communication it never developed further into a creole, ergo there are no native speakers of the pidgin.
