About Judeo-English

Judeo-English (Judeo-English: אַנגליִש, anglish [aŋglɪʃ], also known as Jiwish is a West Germanic language spoken by Jews in the United Kingdom. It is descended from Middle English, and heavily influenced by Yiddish, Judeo-Spanish, and multiple smaller Jewish languages and dialects across Europe. Due to this, it is typically mutually intelligable with English.
The Standard form of Judeo-English is a neutralisation of the many dialects referred to as Judeo-English compiled by the Anglo-Jewish Association to be easily understood by all major dialects of Judeo-English, so those learning the language will be able to speak with all British Jews. No Native Speakers of Judeo-English use the standard form.
British Jews typically speak both Judeo-English and Standard English, and code-switching between the languages in formal contexts is very common, however due to movements to preserve Jewish Diasporic Culture in recent decades, many are attempting to allow Judeo-English to be used in wider contexts, and to remove its connotations as a lower class language.
