About Dunmeris
Dunmeris is one of two dialect clusters constituting the Eastern branch of the modern Aldmeric languages, the other being Velothi [Ashlander]. Both languages are descended from Ald Chimeris, the original Eastern Aldmeric language spoken by the descendants of the Prophet Veloth's followers who settled in Resdayn [commonly known as Morrowind]. The distinction between Dunmeris and Velothi is that the former group of dialects developed in the urban centers of outer Vvardenfell and mainland Morrowind, while the latter group developed in central Vvardenfell relatively isolated from outside contact.
This survey of Dunmeris will try to remain in part dialect neutral but will ultimately be heavily based on the registers of the south, including the socially 'value-neutral' Veki spoken in Vivec and the surrounding region.
