About Cypriot Latin Cypriot Latin (Ciprcot [ʃipʁkot] or Gembĕ Ciprcot [ʒembə ʃipʁkot]) is the official and main language of Cyprus. As a minority language it is spoken by stable communities in the countries such as Turkey, UK, Greece, Dodecania, United States of Ionian Islands, Candia and by the large Cypriot diaspora. Cypriot Latin is also one of the official languages of the European Union.

It is debated whether it’s a different language or a dialect of Cypriot because of it developing much more isolated than other dialects. However it’s still believed to be by a majority of linguists and compared to other Cypriot dialects, it has a much stronger French influence and a majority of its modern borrowings are Italian compared to the English modern borrowings of Nicosian dialect.
[edit] [view] Chiprhiĭot Famĕgucchĕn) (Famagustan Cypriot)Famagustan Cypriot(Chiprhiĭot Famĕgucchĕn) is spoken around the eastern coast of Cyprus and it shows influences of Italian, Aragonese and Occitan much higher compared to other dialects of Cypriot Latin.
[edit] [view] Chiprhiĭot Cherhinhĕn (Kyrenian Cypriot)Kyrenian Cypriot (Chiprhiĭot Cherhinhĕn) is spoken around foothills of Pentadaktylos and coastal plains. It has much higher influence of Armenian, Arabic and Syriac languages.
[edit] [view] Chiprhiĭot Nhicogĕn (Nicosian Cypriot)Modern Standart Cypriot is based on the dialect of Nicosia. This Nicosian Cypriot (Chiprhiĭot Nhicogĕn) constitutes the model of written and spoken Cypriot.
