About Bunkaiian
Spoken on the Bancayan Archipelago and first recorded by Euhemerus, Bancayan is a creole based primarily on Middle Persian speaking Mazdakite refugees (made of mostly temple slaves, prostitutes, and other impoverished demographics) from the 6th century who fled from Shahanshah Khosrow I's persecution to the archipelago. Their escape from the Sassanian Persian empire would ironically allow them to survive even after the mainland Persian empire had been conquered by the invading Muslim Arab and Turkic hordes. The archipelago was originally inhabited by Proto-Ongan and East Barito speaking populations which would be absorbed. During the medieval ages, Gujarati, Yemeni, Somali, Zanzibari, Omani, Hormuzi, Qarmatian and eventually the Dutch, French, pirates, Jesuits and the Portuguese all traded and warred with the Bancayans due to the island chain's strategic position along the Monsoon Trade routes.
Eventually the Italians established a protectorate over the archipelago shortly before losing it rather quickly to the British and local rebellious forces in World War II.
