About Proto-Pan-Amboric The basic dialect on this page is the northeastern dialect. Features of other dialects include the merging of /j/ and /ʝ/ or /ç/ into either of those phonemes before diphthongization (either preventing or exacerbating the emergence of fronted monophthongs and therefore the fronting of many palatal consonants); surviving nasalization in fricatives originating from nasals.
