Word Initial and Intervocalic Clusters:

[sp st sk sw~sm sl~sn] /sp st sk sw sl/
[ʃp ʃt ʃk ʃw~ʃm ʃl~ʃn] /cp ct ck cw cl/
[xp xt st͡s ʃt͡ʃ f~m̥ ɬ~n̥] /hp ht hs hc hw hl/
[kp kt ks kʃ kw~km kl~kn] /kp kt ks kc kw kl/

Phonotactics and Allophony:

After nasal vowels, basic consonants become:
/p t k t͡s t͡ʃ s ʃ h w l j (ʔ)/ >
[mp nt ŋk nt͡s nt͡ʃ ns nʃ ŋx mb nd bl~mn (ŋg)]

After nasal vowels, all clusters have voiced variations:
/sp st sk sw~sm sl~sn/ > [zb zd zg zw~zm zl~zn]
/ʃp ʃt ʃk ʃw~ʃm ʃl~ʃn/ > [ʒb ʒd ʒg ʒw~ʒm ʒl~ʒn]
/xp xt st͡s ʃt͡ʃ f~m̥ ɬ~n̥/ > [ɣb ɣd zd͡z ʒd͡ʒ v~m: ɮ~n:]
/kp kt ks kʃ kw~km kl~kn/ > [gb gd gz gʒ gw~gm gl~gn]

Phonemes /w l j (ʔ)/ absorb nasality, surfacing as [m n ɲ (ŋ)] preceding nasal vowels (becoming oral). Every occurrence in clusters is affected in the same way. All lone vowel qualities are separated by [ʔ~ŋ], the latter depending on the nasality of the second vowel.

Roots never exceed three syllables, maximum: CVCCVCCV.

Phoneme /j/ derives from an earlier phoneme /ɹ/; an epenthetic [b] is placed after nasals, resulting in intervocalic cluster [bl]. Phonetic environment [mn] surfaces if a nasal vowel follows [bl]. Old phoneme /ɹ̃/ would become /ɲ/.

Phonetically, /e a/ are varyingly pronounced [ɛ ɑ].
