In Tenzan, due to words being marked for role, the ordering of words may be used for another purpose. In this case, the six (or ten) possible orders are grouped into different 'modes'.
SVO/OVS- Standard, no special meaning
VSO/VOS- Y/n questions
SOV/OSV- Hyperfactual, anti-subjunctive
S before O- Subject-focal
O before S- Object-focal, really the SO order isn't that impactful, but could be considered poetic. The placement of the indirect object is further relevant:
DVSO/DVOS- No longer a y/n question
V(SOD)- Remains a question.
The rule, generally:
Any order with a verb in the middle is normal. Any order with the verb on the far left is a y/n question. Any order ending on the verb is hyperfactual. Statements such as "my name is..." Are not required to be hyperfactual, as one might think of hyp. As being akin to highly emphasized speech.
