Around the year 300, twelve Baka people of what is now southern Cameroon stole from much of their village and were going to be killed. They escaped east to the rainforests along the Dja river, where they created a village and, with it, a language. This is why Dagne is different from the Niger-Congo languages around it. ✎ Edit Article ✖ Delete Article
