You see, it all started long ago when magic came to this world. For many years, some people had believed in magic, but most had never thought it existed. Well, as you know, it does, and one fateful day, it chose to make itself known. Unfortunately, most of it was evil magic; it covered the land in darkness, and that’s when the Shamblers appeared. They, and all their wretched kin, tore across the land, destroying all they touched. It seemed as though the end of the world were upon us… but suddenly, when all seemed lost, when times were at their darkest, she appeared: The First Seeker.
She wore the dark, billowing cloak, carried the long knife, and on her dominant hand bore the Seeker’s Glove, glittering with Talismans. Now Talismans, you see, are rare things, rarer now than they were then. They’re like pure starlight; pure, clean embodiments of magical energy, and only those ordained as Seekers can use them to their full potential. The First Seeker bore the First Four, the original Talismans, and most powerful of them all. She had gathered her most trusted allies and ordained them into the Order of Seekers; she taught them how to use their newfound magical perception to ‘seek out’ Talismans of their own.
Then, they went and fought the Dark Ones, and they succeeded for a time. Those that The First Seeker had ordained went and ordained others, and they ordained others, and so on, until even people like us were Seekers. However, things took a turn for the worst. The Dark Ones, the Shamblers, had something at their disposal; what exactly, we still don’t know, but it was horrendous and evil and powerful. It slew The First Seeker and many of The First Ordained. The First Four Talismans were lost to history, and the Order went into hiding. Slowly, the Seekers were hunted down with renewed vigor, one by one, two by two, until eventually, hardly any were left. But, do not be disheartened, for even in small numbers, Seekers have great power; just one Seeker alone can stand his ground against the Dark well enough, but working together, who knows what even low-rank Seekers can accomplish? ✎ Edit Article ✖ Delete Article
