[edit] [top]Part I - Present Tense/Introduction

When you do things, you would say something like:
- I drink...
- He drinks...
- We drink...

If you notice, the endings of the word think can change with who is doing the action. This is called conjugation, and Prezian has it too, but it acts differently than that of English.

In Prezian, there are 3 verb endings: -ár, -ir, and -er. How you conjugate these verbs depends on who is doing them. There are verbs that oppose these rules, but that is for another lesson. Let's start with the verb izkár, which means "to drink". This is how you would conjugate it:
- É izko (-o)
- Vé izkás (-ás)
- Jikim izkám (-ám)
- Viranz izkárz (-árz)
- Jirž/Jira/Jir izkán (-án)

If you notice, the -ár gets dropped and gets replaced by the new ending. This applies to EVERY verb that ends with -ár, so if you know this, than you know how to do the rest!

Examples including -ir and -er include:

kánrir (to run)
- É kanrio (-io)
- Vé kánris (-is)
- Jikim kánrim (-im)
- Viranz kánrirz (-irz)
- Jirž/Jira/Jir kánrin (-in)

and

ažuter (to fly)
- É ažutéo (-éo)
- Vé ažutés (-és)
- Jikim ažutiém (-iém)
- Viranz ažutiréz (-iréz)
- Jirž/Jira/Jir ažutén (-én)

[edit] [top]Part II - The Past and the Future

Along with this, there are also ways to indicate the past and the future. As we might say we did something or that we are going to do something, in Prezian we can do the same thing.

The idea is the same as the present tense, however, the endings are different.

Here is the table for the Past Tense:

Pronoun-ár-ir-er
É-iéo-éro
-es-ies-éres
Jikim-em-iem-iémes
Viranz-erz-ierz-ieréza
Jirž/Jira/Jir-en-ien-enéa

As an example, let's use kánrir (to run). If we were running right now, we would say something like "Jikim kánrim", however if we had been running, we would instead use the past tense verb ending and say "Jikim kánriem".

For future tense, however, you would use this table:

Pronoun-ár-ir-er
É-ioá-éoá
-ása-isá-ésá
Jikim-áma-imá-iémá
Viranz-árza-irzá-iérzá
Jirž/Jira/Jir-ána-iná-éná

Using the same example from earlier, we can say that if we are to run in the future, we would say something like "Jikim kanrimá".

Finally, it should be noted that the pronoun is not necessary for the conjugation to be correct since Prezian allows for pronoun dropping. For example, simply saying “Izko.” is as grammatically correct as saying “É izko.” However, it should be noted that sometimes people will include the pronoun for clarity purposes.
