pronoun
[PERS] Personal pronoun
ecche
[ˈɛ.ke]
we (1PL, see notes)
[ˈɛ.ke]
we (1PL, see notes)
Etymology
From "ecco" (I) + "-e" (plural marker). The "h" is there just to keep the hard pronunciation of "cc" that would otherwise be pronounced /t͡ʃ/. Notes
"Ecche" is always exclusive, which means that the addressee is not included. The inclusive counterpart is "nostre".
Example:
"Ecche vamne jantare fuora hoje."
We (some other person/people and I) are going to dine out today.
"Nostre vamne jantare fuora hoje."
We (you and I, and maybe some other person/people as well) are going to dine out today.
