About Yurktses
The Modern Greek language has hundreds of loanwords from Turkish as a result of language contact with the Ottomans. But what if the lexicon consisted of almost all Turkish words? Yurktses is a Greek-Turkish mixed language consisting of a Turkish lexicon and a Modern Greek substratum. The lexicon of Yurktses is composed of Turkish words adapted to conform to the phonology of Standard Modern Greek. The language uses Modern Greek grammar and morphology.
