About Western Quoy

Written ‹o, u› cause labialization, ‹e, i› palatization, and ‹a› plain consonants. A silent ‹u, i, a› is inserted between a consonant and the next letter to indicated a "non-default" combination, e.g. nguin [ŋʷyɲ], which phonemically begins with /ŋʷi/.
‹ng› and ‹n› share a palatized form, /ɲ/ (written ‹n›).
