About Old Damsest
Cirnese is the eldest antecessor of Aranzech there are written records of. It was spoken from the 12th to the 16th centuries in the Sērmese kingdom,in modern-day Arkamka and minor parts of Zinsha. It's name comes from the PSV *xiː.zæ,meaning “common”.
- Like other Southern Vaniuan languages,it developed 2 dental fricatives /θ ð/,from the PSV affricates *t͡ʃ d͡ʒ
- Developed a rhotic from PSV *z
- Changed the array of PSV stops *ʈ ɖ c ɟ into t͡ʃ d ç z
- It maintained the pharyngeal fricative *ħ
- It maintained all PSV cases,but the Vocative was reduced to a simple vowel suffix or nothing at all,and the differences in declensions were only kept in 3 cases.
- It reanalysed the PSV 3rd person verbal suffix as 3rd person plural,having the unmarked verb be a 3rd person singular
- It developed infinitives and a passive voice
