About Proto-Southern Algonic
After Partial Annihilation, the peoples in the south were unaffected by the eruption. Neighboring towns in the north, however, lost valuable records of language and culture, resulting in a scurry to recover sagas and cultural documents. The south, on the other hand, was fortunate enough to have recorded sagas and cultural documents on paper and stored them far away, so even if the volcano had destroyed their nation, their knowledge would have survived.
On the subject of the language, it carried many distinct features that were passed down to later modern languages:
* Complex grammar and gendered nouns. (Very uncommon for a proto-language)
* Light, airy consonants with middle sounded vowels.
* Strong distinctions between polite and casual word forms.
