Syllable StructureSyllables can be arranged, simply, as (C)(V)C where the final C is the nucleus and the onset can be either a consonant (excluding approximates, nasals, the lateral approximate /l/, and velar fricatives), a vowel either long and allo-truncated (a word I made up to describe how consonants are shortened by a long vowel), or both (except that all consonants are allowed before a vowel). Most words will be 1-3 syllables. Single syllable words cannot end in a click /ǁ/ or glottal stop /ʔ/ unless the next word begins with a vowel.
Stress informationStress is ultimate in Proto-Megalan unless a syllable contains a stressed vowel. Vowels that are by nature unstressed can become stressed if they are marked as long vowels.
OtherPhoMo, for whatever reason, likes to ignore affricates when it comes to consonants and they are not counted as consonants. Just know that consonants before or after clusters like "dj" and the such are SILENT.
