About Archaic Njazanic
Archaic Njazanic or Proto-Njazanic is the parent language of a subfamily of languages in the northeast of a fictional world I'm working on. It is not really a true proto-language, instead it's late stages coincide with the earlist written attestation of the Njazanic branch of languages.
It is vaguely inspired by the Uralic and Paleo-Siberian languages, as well as other "northern" languages.
Archaic Njazanic features vowel harmony, postpositions, SOV as its standard word-order, a distinction between inanimate and animate nouns (and only the latter are reliably marked for number), verbs that often have trouble distinguishing number or person and last-and-also-least: a small case system (that's going to grow by quite a lot in some of the descendant languages).
