About Mylvets
Mylvets (also known, for political reasons, as High Meropots in Meropot and Joh i-ɣeɣ, Northern language, in Tetrovy) is the national language of Mylveti, and one of two official languages in Meropot (where it is spoken in areas north and east of the Rejiwâ range) and in four northern provinces of Tetrovy. It is also the mother tongue of a substantial diaspora in such Western Aivani nations as Ochrís and Telairo.
Mylvets is widely considered to be a tricentric language with three prestige forms: High Meropots, Northern Mylvets and Southern Mylvets. It belongs to the East Aivanien language family alongside Tetrovian, Low Meropots and Wiyoti. Proposals to link it to West Aivani languages have proven controversial. Mylvets has a long oral tradition, and is known across Aivanien for its poetry and music.
