About Mokshi A langauge based on Chechen and Adyghean I intend to use in a novel.

The Mokshi people lived in an isolated region in the central north Caucasus. They origin from when a food shortage hit Kabardinia and Chechnya, so Chechen and Circassian society decided to send nearly half their people deep into Caucasus to try and grow more food. It was a great success. The Chechen and Circassians living in the fertile area merged languages over time and now there is one language of the people ; Mokshi
The people called themselves the ' Mokxī ', deriving from the word 'Maka', meaning pink, the colour of the trees in spring, and ' Kxīm ' - people.
The people named their nation 'Mokxīśaq' (literally, Mokshi area).
Most people lived in a large town they called Jxīéźäksaśop , meaning literally 'Cherry blossom on flat top mountain' - again a reference to the pink trees.

Mokshia was taught Islam in an unknown period of time, and they wrote the previously-only-spoken Mokshi language in a modified Arabic alphabet

Then, Red October came. The Russians taught their language to many regions around them and enforced a Cyrillic alphabet upon the Mokshi.

Some time after, the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria illegitimately hold a referendum to leave Russia. They initiated the First Chechen Conflict. Mokshia decide not to send troops, but allow war to take place on their land. When Ichkeria win the war Mokshia decide to do the same, but first Russia declare a second war on Ichkeria. This time, Mokshia fight alongside the Chechen and after a 24 year war, Ichkeria and Mokshia become independent nations. Both join the EU. Both nations adopted a modified Latin alphabet.

The war is the main element of the novel I'm writing so not much detail there.

Onto some grammar!
Word order usually SOV and sometimes OVS. E.g. 'Mé Mokxī yé' and 'Mokxī yé mé' are both acceptable ways of saying 'I am Mokshi'

Adjectives follow the noun, E.g 'Qab śopśa' , literally Man strong
