About Sedozaki Sedozaki is the language of a humanoid society who descend from a tribe that once lived near and relied heavily upon a series of major rivers on an isolated temperate subcontinent in the southern hemisphere of an Earth-like planet; they farmed along its banks and led hunting expeditions up into the glaciers of a Himalaya-like range of mountains that spawned their fluvial livelihood. Much of the vocabulary comes from the lingo of fishingpersons and riverbank farming, including the language's proper name "sedozaki", a contraction of "zojasedo eto otozaki", which loosely translates as "words for fishing". An older term, "śirujase", or "people's language", has largely fallen out of favor following contact with and the subsequent unification of the three river peoples. Being the language of the capital and the westernmost people, sedozaki has become the standard across the country in all official business. The speakers of sedozaki are proud of their language and take pride in its uniqueness and lack of influence from other languages of the world. Evolving largely in isolation due to the impassable mountains on the subcontinent, speakers of sedozaki made contact with other societies only relatively recently in their history. While relatively simplistic in structure, sedozaki is rather distinctly different from most other languages found on this planet. Interestingly, speakers of the Germanic and Romance language families of the planet Earth would find sedozaki particularly easy to master, possessing a somewhat familiar morphology and syntax, as well as a highly pronounceable sound inventory.
