About Scotatrovian Scotatrovian (Escotatróf), or Avarian (Eferonea), is an Istoral language that originated in the Roaseran peninsula and today has over a billion speakers in Scotatrova, the Americas, Africa and a small portion of Asia. It is a global language and the world's second most spoken native language after Tiong Hoanese.

Scotatrovian is a part of the Roaseran group of the Istoral languages, which evolved from dialects of Classical Tarazedian in Roasera around the 8th century BC. However, the oldest texts of Scotatrovian come from mid-northern Hescettgovas in the 2nd century, and the first systematic written use of the language happened in Antir, then capital of the Kingdom of Avaria, in the 11th century. Beginning in the early 17th century, Scotatrovian was taken to the colonies of the Scotatrovian Empire, most notably to the Americas, as well as territories in Africa, Asia and Oceania.

Most of modern Scotatrovian is derived from Classical Tarazedian and Ancient Rodrehal, the latter being present in the peninsula from 601 BC to 165 AD due to the Rodraic Empire. Scotatrovian vocabulary has also been in contact from an early date with Osphenian, present during the Alfaraz era in the Roaseran Peninsula. With around 8% of its vocabulary being Osphenian in origin, this language is the second most important influence after Ancient Rodrehal. It has also been influenced by Vulran as well as by neighboring Roaseran Istoral languages. It also adopted words from non-Istoral languages such as Atherian language from the Altherians in which many Scotatrovian names and surnames have an Altherian origin. It has absorbed vocabulary from other neighboring languages as well as from indigenous languages of the Americas. Scotatrovian is the official or national language in Scotatrova, 8 countries in the Americas, 5 countries in Africa and 2 in Asia. Speakers in the Americas total some 637 million.
