About Denkan
Standard Denkan (Dothen Denkoikh , pronounced [¨¨ðɔθɛn ðɛnkɔɪχ]) is the lingua franca and oficial language of the Denkan Empire, it is also the one with most native speakers with about 500 million people. It is based on the Gothir dialect of the formerly known as forest language and gained the same status as Classical Denkan, gradually replacing the majority of denkan languages across the Empire during the 500 year reign of the Sir dynasty.
Denkan has an OSV structure, with 3 genders, one plural and 10 grammar cases. Verbs are conjugated according to 3 tenses, 2 aspects and 5 grammar moods. Most of the vocabulary is derived from Classical Denkan, and there are some direct loans of this language as well. Many words come from the nearby languages spoken around Gothir during its early history, such as Ikr, a northern language still spoken in some parts of the Empire.
With the exception of Western Denkan, that is a language on its own, there are many dialects spread across the imperial lands. The main division of these dialects is mainland/overseas.
