About Atrixian
A language spoken in the country of Atria and its colonies, in the fictional world Xel.
It's number system is in base 16, and it has unique words for the first 16 numbers. Bigger numbers are formed using two hyphenated words - the number of sixteens, written as 16 followed by an 'a' and then the number, and then any other value. For example, the decimal number 36 would be romanised as 'xusakanj īn', two sixteens and four.
Larger numbers are written using the suffix 'ā'a', which is used for exponents. For example, the decimal number 280 would be romanised longhand as 'xusā'akanj xusanj clu', sixteen squared and one sixteen and eight.
There is also a written numeral system, also in base 16, with a sub-base of 4. This is romanised using hexadecimal, the caret ^, and the letter X to represent 16. For example, the decimal number 280 would be romanised in shorthand as X^2 X1 8, and the decimal number 1000 would be X^23 XE 8 (Note the lack of space between the 2 and 3 - a space would be unnecessary albeit clearer for decimal users). Absurdly large numbers, like 5*10^27, would probably be written using brackets, but I haven't decided yet. Something like X^(X^(X1 8)).
