Sentence structure in Kirnath:
[edit] [top]Statements

Standard structure is SVO
Because nouns inflect for case, the structure is fluid.
Pronouns for 1sg, 2sg, 1pl, and 2pl can be cut from the sentence and left just as a verb.
Verbs in present tense translate as: speak, is speaking, does speak.
Verbs in past tense translate as: spoke, has/have spoken, did speak.
Verbs in future tense translate as: will speak, shall speak, am going to speak.
Verbs have an understood object as wém, if no other object is present or the verb is supposed to be transitive.

Ex. kyoyyu kïqnað. /kjo̞ɪ̯ju kɪɣnɑð/ "I speak Kirnath." but kïqnað kyoyyu. /kɪɣnɑð kjo̞ɪ̯ju/ would also work, as kyoyyu /kjo̞ɪ̯ju/ only works with źëk /ʑɛk/ I, and kïqnað /kɪɣnɑð/ couldn't be the subject with that conjugation.

Conclusively, verbs dominate sentences. Whatever the verb is conjugated to is the subject, so conjugation is extremely important.

Next, all adjectives precede the noun they describe, and adverbs precede the adjective, adverb, or verb that they describe.

Ex. ziźa hïntkima can eŕs. ziʑɑ hɪntkimɑ t͡sɑn əɹs "The small boy does not run." (lit. small the boy not run.)

Transitive Sentences
Dative case is used ONLY as the indirect object, and accusative case is used as the direct object. General order is S.V.IO.DO but it is fluid.

hïntgima wakbiðë hïntkiþa lakiźniya. /hɪntgimɑ wɑkbiðɛ hɪntkiθɑ ɫɑkiʑnijɑ/ The girl gave the boy a flower (lit. The girl gave the boy flower) S.V.DO.IO order

) Declined for fluid order.
*No matter the order, the nouns decline!

Proper nouns only decline when within the sentence. Vocative remains undeclined. If a country name, ε and δ will move to surround the declined name.

[edit] [top]Questions

Questions have a mandatory subject, which is inverted with the verb and intoned. All adverbs to the verb precede it, but adjectives to the subject or adverbs to those adjectives will instead follow the subject. An apostrophe ' will follow the verb, but have a space between it and the subject.

Ex. can eŕs' hïntkima ziźa? /t͡sɑn əɹs hɪntkimɑ ziʑɑ/ "Doesn't the small boy run?" (lit. not run the boy small?)
