The dative case is used for the indirect object of the sentence, which can be found by answering the question “to whom” or “for whom.”

The accusative case is used for the direct object of the sentence, which can be found by answering the question “what” or “who”.



[top]The Instrumental Case

The instrumental case is used to indicate with what something was done. It can also translate to by (means of), through, or from when these words are used to indicate means of accomplishing something.


The instrumental case also functions as the agent in a passive voice construction.
Amdhurekmot čelě zařetsj ěpethy; The school was destroyed by fire

[top]The Genitive Case

The genitive is used to show possession.


If the genitive is the complement of the copula, a pronoun (apo for singular, riulu for plural) declined in the accusative case must precede it.
Apim tarěpa vuwam čelpo šuňodh; The ship is our leader’s.
